What We Deliver

Investing in People

FYNEX believes that sustainable mental health change in Zimbabwe requires a pipeline of skilled, culturally competent practitioners. Our training programmes combine evidence-based practice with deep respect for indigenous knowledge systems — producing counsellors who can serve their communities with both professionalism and cultural fluency.

Our HEXCO-accredited National Certificate in Counselling provides structured, rigorous training, while our Afrocentric Toolkit Series addresses the specific mental health needs of boys and young men through culturally resonant frameworks.

Our Programmes

  • Basic Counselling Course — HEXCO-accredited National Certificate in Counselling; structured training programme with comprehensive curriculum
  • Afrocentric Toolkit Series — Four-toolkit counselling curriculum for boys and young men including Hunhu Hwemurume, Indoda Yoqobo, and more
  • UN Framework Alignment — All training aligned to UN HeForShe, WHO, and UNFPA frameworks for global best practice
  • Corporate Training Packages — Ready-to-deploy training on mental health, customer care, and wellbeing for external organisations
  • Peer Counsellor Training — Equipping students and community members with foundational counselling skills
  • Staff Development — Ongoing professional development for counsellors and mental health practitioners

The Afrocentric Toolkit

Developed in response to the reality that many Western therapeutic frameworks fail to resonate with Zimbabwean clients, the Afrocentric Toolkit Series integrates Shona and Ndebele wisdom with clinical best practice. It addresses topics such as masculinity, identity, grief, and resilience through lenses that feel familiar and affirming rather than alien and clinical.
